Along these same lines (well not really..but close) It would appear for some reason our ISA Server (win2k sp3/isa sp1) all the sudden decided it was going to block all incoming traffic on port 25. The only solution found was to disable, and reenable the packet filter allowing SMTP in/out 25. I found this very odd. -----Original Message----- From: Thomas W Shinder [mailto:tshinder@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Wednesday, August 13, 2003 1:27 PM To: [ISAserver.org Discussion List] Subject: [isalist] Configuring an SMTP Relay on the ISA Server Firewall http://www.ISAserver.org Hey folks, If you're publishing an Exchange Server, you problably want to use an SMTP relay. The problem is that some people don't have the resoruces to use a machine separate from the firewall and the Exchange Server as an SMTP relay. The solution? Put the SMTP relay on the firewall! One big advantage is that you can publish mutliple SMTP servers on the internal network using a single IP address bound to the external interface of the ISA Server firewall. This doc is pre-beta, which means I just finished it, haven't corrected the voluminous grammer and spelling errors, and haven't added any Visio graphics yet. But if you have any suggestions, let me know.
