Authtication through ISA server

Hi guys - we are about to put ISA proxy (no FW) in to production,
currently the server is a nice clean vanilla ISA build with Site and
Content rules, ANY/ANY. I've noticed that if you force users to
authenticate on the outgoing web request page you can have problems
accessing web servers that require authentication, error is:

HTTP 401.2 - Unauthorized: Logon failed due to server configuration
Internet Information Services

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Technical Information (for support personnel)

Background:
This is usually caused by a server-side script not sending the proper
WWW-Authenticate header field. Using Active Server Pages scripting this is
done by using the AddHeader method of the Response object to request that
the client use a certain authentication method to access the resource.

Unticking 'authenticate users for outgoing requests' results in the login
box appearing when accessing some servers, on others the same error as
above.

I'm told MS believes this to be a bug and the workaround is to allow
anonymous access out but configure 'Site and Content' rule to 'apply to'
everyone or in my case 'domain users' but this hasn't worked for me
either.

Is this a known problem ? I've not seen any messages on this one.

Cheers,
Tom.
