Hi Simon,

I'm concerned about people being able to access the Internet when the firewall
is disabled. Isn't the ISA firewall in the path to the Internet? If so, they
would need an out of band connection, like a locally attached modem, or a
single machine with a locally attached modem and a wifi connection to allow ICS
(ouch! Sound like VPN split tunneling :-)

What is the DNS configuration on the firewall's interfaces?

Thanks!
Tom

Hello Tom
So it could be a DNS issue then? I should say it is not just one PC affected
but over 20 that have this same application.
On another matter, I am concerned that people are accessing the internet when
teh firewall is disabled and I would like to stop this from happening.
Â
Any ideas?

Hi Simon,

If it works without the firewall client enabled, but it doesnât work when it
is enabled, then Iâd bet a dollar that itâs a name resolution issue.

Tom

Hi everyone
I think I am going completely mad!!
I have a 3rd party application that communicates on Port 319 â If the users
Win2k Workstations Firewall Client are enabled, the application does not
respond. If they disable the firewall client, the program works fine.
Can someone tell me where I need to enable port 319 through the firewall please?
Thank you so muchâ.. I think I am losing it â
Sim
