Logging is a fun issue for me! You have to create the columns and tables. For ODBC logging there is a set format as required by IIS. If you import Your own logs there still are a set format for the fields that IIS generates. Once you have your flat file created then you can parse via T-SQL the information that you want to analyze into summary tables, OLAP tables And do all the data mining your heart desires. -----Original Message----- From: Anthony Michaud [mailto:anthonym@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Wednesday, January 23, 2002 4:55 PM To: [ISAserver.org Discussion List] Subject: [isalist] RE: AW: logging to a database - anyone do it? http://www.ISAserver.org With regards to setting up logging to a database, what is the easist method for doing this? Do you simply have to setup a database, and the logging service creates tables / columns etc, or do you have to create the columns/tables yourself? I've been looking at doing something like this for a while, but haven't been able to find the time to sit down and look at it. If I get the database going, the ASP should be reasonably easy to code, and I'd be happy to share :) -- Anthony Michaud Network Administrator Act!
