Hi Ed, I will endorse your sentiments and those of Tom too! I understand from reading the "updates from Cork and Lean Kennedy" that there is some disability user group liaising with the airport and other transport providers, could you clarify Lean? or indeed some one employed by IGDB who contributes to the list? my other thought is that, if there is no plan envisaged to provide, and address access issues for those of us who are guide dog owners, maybe it's time to get things moving! from my experience as a teacher, and trainer, it's up to those of us with insights into specific knowledges to make those who can make change aware of our needs! also, if I can do anything as a single guide dog owner to try and reiterate the need for access issues being addressed, I'd be delighted to do so! please IGDB make this "an active" issue in need of being addressed with airport authorities, rather than neglecting to convey the necessity for change, after all, the collective voice of an organisation is much more potent in lobbying, and conveying awareness of change than the single, intermittent voices in the wilderness...! Looking forward to having much more feedback on this issue! Hello Audrey, I think you are quite right about this. It would be a great thing if it were possible to produce a list/map or whatever for areas around all transport terminals: bus, train, air and sea; preferablyother guide dog organisations in other countries should do the same, but in particular britain as our nearest neighbour. It could take some time but it would be very worth while. A simple list on the irish guide dog website would be a good start. If there are political with a small "p" problems in doing this, it would be easy enough to put up a page which we could all know the link to, which would have the same information, but not officially endorsed by the Association. Any volunteers to co-ordinate the list? Some one at the centre would be good. Hello There, I am emailing to enquire as to whether or not there is a designated "spending area for guide dogs" at Dublin airport? I was making enquiries of late, and I have received a variation of info depending upon whom I asked! so, I would appreciate clear, concise info please! Ivy and myself, will be travelling again soon, and I feel it's better to know than to be "caught out" I must add, I have travelled on several occasions with Ivy and there was never a major issue, but I feel the airport authorities must think about "spending areas" in the same way they must address other issues of "access" for other passengers travelling with disabilities!
