Hi list.

Below is a message i sent to the braillenote mailing list asking
for some urgent help.

Subject: Opening RTF documents: urgent help needed!

Hi list.

This problem has only just come up today but it is a major
problem for me anyway.

At school, my carer puts work onto usb memory sticks for me to
insert into keyword documents in class. The files are saved in
rich text format (rtf).

Today when i went to insert something, it inserted nothing. So i
went and tried to open the rtf file directly and it just gave me
a blank document with a few funny format markers showing on the
braille display. This problem hasn't really come up until today.

Last week, the laptop used to save the files broke so we were
issued with a replacement. This replacement was running windows
vista and i believe it was using MS Word 2007. I'm wondering
whether it is anything to do with the fact that it is Word 2007.
But the only strange thing about that would be that I was able to
insert a document saved on that computer at the end of last week
and use it without any problem.

Oh and the files contained no complex formatting so i don't think
it would have anything to do with that.

Any help would be much appreciated as this has suddenly become a
very serious problem for me.

Thanks and sorry for the long email.
