AFAICT our project is already settled down to a point where almost 
everyone accepts what we are doing, so I wouldn't expect too annoying 
threads due to that :-)
At least, all other lists are open, and don't have such problems, at 
least I didn't encounter them - so I would be in favour of opening it 
up.
