Now *this* is a different thing altogether. Though it does beg the
question of why widgets shouldn't know how to draw themselves. =)

I actually don't think this is necessarily a bad idea, and may provide a
useful abstraction when it comes to making themes happen. I'm not going
to break my own taboo here, so you'll just have to wait until we start
R2 to see what I have in mind theming-wise. Why? We have so much to do
already just to accomplish an R5 clone, that spending our time pondering
how to do themes is a waste of precious resources. "Focus" is our
mantra. Suffice it to say that, regardless of what happens in R2, our
high-level architecture for R1 is, for all intents and purposes, carved
in stone. Besides it gives me a carrot to wave about: the sooner we're
done with R1, the sooner we can entertain our theming flights of fancy.
