Look - I'm replying to myself. :P

After doing even more reading (R5 licensing agreement, etc), I can say it'd 
be in the fuzzy zone, the more I think about it, especially for those of us 
who live in Europe.

I guess it'd depend on how we use it. Distributing any dumps is, obviously, 
not an option. However, REing for understanding processes and assuring 
compatibility seems to be ok. The license agreement says we can't, but there 
are only a few US states which actually put teeth into shrink-wrap licensing 
statements, but, even then, federal law supercedes it, saying that such 
prohibitions (more or less) can't be enforced. AFAIK, there aren't any trade 
secrets to be concerned about, so I doubt we have anything to worry about as 
long as we're very careful on how we use what we learn.
