Have you actually ssh'd directly to cvs.open-beos.sourceforge.net (that 
is, not through cvs itself)?  IIRC, this is necessary before you can get 
access to the repository.  Does anybody else remember having to do this? 
 I seem to recall something about it in sourceforge's docs ...
