WYSIWYG with respect to color doesn't actually happen without color
management. For those of us in graphics, it's quite important to have the
photo you're editing to be printed out in a way that it looks just like the
way it did on the screen. Without color management, the printout will look
different from the one on the screen. It's because of the color models - the
screen using RGB and the ink using CMYK. If you go to this link (use Net+,
Opera doesn't like the site) http://www.creoscitex.com/products/color/
profile_wizard/index.asp and look at the images, you'll see what I'm talking
about. This kind of color correction is necessary also because even in the
realm of monitors, color production is different. It tends to seem rather
nitpicky to most users, but if we want serious graphics done under OpenBeOS,
we will have to have it.
R5 used Kodak's management system, so using that is right out the window. I
did some more looking, and I did find a non-GPL manager, BUT it's LGPL.
What's the difference between LGPL?
