P.S.: To Korli, I guess Axel has answered your question. Bi directional text is required to display right-to-left languages properly (Arabic for example).

Well, bidirectional code largely depends on two things: localization and updating the app_server's font support. I'm not really familiar with it, but I would say that it will probably come with one feature I'd like to have for R2: full OpenType support. If they'd like to lend a hand, have them let me know and I'll see what we can do. :)
