All of us wish that some day our autistic children will be able to handle
money at least understand the value of money. But it is one of the very
difficult lessons to teach an autistic child. many children find maths
difficult , hence cannot handle currency beyond a point.
What do we do?
I feel learning through experience will be the best, but a difficult task
with too many sub-goals.
A parent I interacted with was of the opinion that autism being divine
renders the child a വൈരാഗി - no interest in wealth/possessions.- so
will show no interest in lessons on money!!!!
obviously the child finds maths difficult too.
When cashless transactions become popular, we may want to teach our kids
that too. We should start thinking of the lesson plans.
