Hi Eliza and welcome to our group!

As Lynn said, nothing is banned from an inquiry to the group!
I have worked off and on since 1996 with an organization called Mobility International USA (MIUSA). They do not focus specifically on people who are blind, but they are a great resource for information about international resources and information about a wide variety of disability groups in many countries. I know that we have had people with disabilities from Kenya who participated in MIUSA workshops.
Check out their web site (miusa.org) to see if there is anything relevant..
Or contact Michele Scheib at <mscheib@xxxxxxxxx>., She is the >Project Specialist for the
>National Clearinghouse on Disability and Exchange Mobility
>International USA

If you write to Michele, tell her that I recommended that you contact her!

My full name is Ellen Rubin and I look forward to meeting you on Saturday!

Hi all,
I'm new to the list (thanks Lynne), so just thought I'd say hi.
All right, and I had a question I thought I'd throw out to the group.
One of my friends is in the Peace Corps in Kenya, and just sent me an
email with a question I couldn't answer. He said that a professor at
the school at which he's teaching is blind, and wanted to know if
there are any organizations in the U.S. that aid blind orphans in the
"developing world." I don't know if there are, or who to ask, so
forgive me if this is inappropriate for this list. Do any of you know
off the top of your heads if such an organization exists? The best I
can think of is Braille Without Borders.
Thanks for reading. and be well
   Eliza
