Hi, Eliza, and Welcome!.
This is not an inappropriate question at all. As I have no answers, though, , I hope someone else can help.
InfoShare tries to deal with all things blind. <smile>

Subject: [infoshare] from a new list member

Hi all,
I'm new to the list (thanks Lynne), so just thought I'd say hi. All right, and I had a question I thought I'd throw out to the group. One of my friends is in the Peace Corps in Kenya, and just sent me an email with a question I couldn't answer. He said that a professor at the school at which he's teaching is blind, and wanted to know if there are any organizations in the U.S. that aid blind orphans in the "developing world." I don't know if there are, or who to ask, so forgive me if this is inappropriate for this list. Do any of you know off the top of your heads if such an organization exists? The best I can think of is Braille Without Borders.
Thanks for reading. and be well
   Eliza
