Please note that there will be TWO major open source activities at
medinfo2004. All members are invited to attend - please encourage
colleagues attending medinfo2004 who are not members of the Working Groups
to also attend. In addition, there is a range of other tutorials,
presentations, etc - see the medinfo2004 programme.
Meeting 1
Joint meeting of IMIA Open Source Working Group, AMIA Open Source Working
Group and IMIA-NI Open Source Nursing Informatics Working Group

To be held at medinfo2004, San Francisco, USA on Wednesday 08 September,
15:30 to 18:30 hours.
Venue: Rooms Union Square 23 and 24, Hilton San Francisco and Towers, 333
O'Farrell Street,
San Francisco.

The meeting offers the opportunity for members of all groups to meet - and
for new members to come along and get involved.

The meeting begins with some formal business, then moves into a discussion
and interactive voting session to explore the outputs of the Marwell (UK)
Open Steps open source thinktank meeting held in February 2004.
See http://www.chirad.info/marwell04/marwellreportv01.htm for report of
the Marwell meeting. This provides an opportunity to discuss whether the
consensus views of those attending the Marwell meeting are held more
commonly, or whether the international open source community has different
priorities. The meeting will close with opportunities for discussion of
future directions for the individual groups and joint work.

15:30 Introductions and welcomes - lead by Peter Murray and Tim Cook
15:35 Information/presentation about IMIA OSWG, AMIA OSWG and IMIA-NI OSNI
WG - 5 minutes from each about current activities, plans, etc. and then
general questions
16:00 Presentation of Marwell Open Steps meeting findings - leading into
discussion and interactive voting to validate (or otherwise) Marwell
findings in international context. (to include formal comfort/coffee etc break)
18:00 - 18:30 Discussion of future directions and activities.

Meeting 2
Further information to follow on Friday lunchtime meeting (10 Sept).

Cheers, Peter Murray
