Once I used DAP (Download Accelerator Plus for
Windows) to download Slackware 9.0 ISO. The bad part
was md5sum didn't match with that of original one.
Then I tried downloading the ISO with Opera's (in
Solaris) internal transfer manager, after some time.
Similarly the checksum didn't match.
People suggested me to use wget, which was SURE to
download the file correctly. How is this true?
Now I am able to access one linux system (after
studying nearly 3 years in my college), that is our CS
server. I am planning to download Gentoo-1.4 pentium4
optimized through wget. (Windows wget didn't worked)
Also has anyone been successful using Gentoo, as I am
considering to switch from Slackware after using it
for 3-4 months! I prefer a distro that doesn't comes
with lots of private bells n whistles (like Mdk,
Fedora, ..), as they are likely to have more bugs!
"How do you power off this machine?" (Linus, when upgrading
linux.cs.helsinki.fi, and after using the machine for several months.)
