It works perfectly well with wget 1.8.2, see to it that your ".gz" is not
".g\nz" (-;

yup, interesting one. AFA certificates are concern, it's advisable 
to strict with netscape, since they are original inventors of SSL 
and also has much more facility for searching certificates.. 
blah.....

IE obvious reason but konqueror ?????????????????????
