Hi baranidharan,
execute the command "lokkit" this will open a window where you can configure
your firewall settings. Chose customize and enable the telnet, ftp,www and
other access whichever you may require.
now everything will work fine.

hi to everybody,
i have installed redhat linux 7.3 in my compu,
i have done the following things..
1) change the /etc/xinetd.d/telnet file disable yes to no
2) change the /etc/xinetd.d/wu-ftpd file disable yes to no
3) /etc/init.d/xinetd start
4) /etc/rc.d/init.d/xinetd start
(what is the differenc between no3 and no4 xinetd )
but still i was not able to access (telnet or ftp) my
system from other systems .if anyone can help me what could
be the reason for this i'll be grateful.
i have solved my problem of enbling telnet in mandrake 8.2 thanx
for all those who helped me for that.
