[Ilugc] single SMTP server for multiple accounts ?!

I'm wondering why thunderbird uses single outgoing server for multiple
mail accounts.
That is usually how it is. you fetch mail from a dozen pop3 servers,
but deliver your mail to a single smtp server which again distributes
it to the destinations. Usually this single smtp server is the ISP's
SMTP server.
