don't  understand  why  this  'gnu  shouting  brigade'  insists  on
prefixing gnu when all important 18% kernel

This FAQ might help you understand better, do please link up

You know, I sure as hell understand the insistence, it is just that I
am tired of the repeated plugs telling people what to call it and making
them appear beyond redemption for having used 'Linux' instead of
'GNU/Linux'

I shall not delve into numerous arguments which have already been
presented because I don't see the point in talking about it all over
again but in any case, one thing is clear - the fact that I call it
'Linux' does _not_ mean that I am not aware of or acknowledging the
contributions of GNU. It simply means that I shall call it whatever I
please and I choose to take it easy on my tongue especially when I use
the word a hundred times a day.

But if you come chasing after each and every one of my mails pulling me
up for not using the term 'GNU/Linux' and making me look like an idiot,
I am not going to be very happy and I sure as hell am going to be
discouraged from posting to the group.

        Regards,

                Ravi
