The bootfloppy only contains things that are necessary to boot your
system. Once your system is booted up, you can remove the
floppy. firstly, the boot floppy is needed only if you dont want to
touch your hard drive's boot records for some reason. Otherwise what
you should really do is to work to make your system bootable from your
hard disk.
OTOH, by 'boot disk' if you meant the 'rescue disk', then you
shouldn't be using your rescue disk to boot your computer for
day-to-day work. As the name suggests, its used only for 'rescueing'
your system when it breaks.
