[Ilugc] how to rotate the file names after backup

Hi,
I have a cron job to take backup at certain time daily. I want this backup file 
to be rotated atleast for 5 days, is it possible to do that. I tried with the 
existing logrotate program but it doesn't work. Any help will be greatly 
appreciated.
