Suraj,
I'm afraid i cannot join you. But if the school is a
tamil medium school, can you do a demo of Mandrake9.0,
which comes with nice tamil support and in-built linux
terminal server (ideal for schools).
I've been following your arguments on GNU and
opensource and i think i mostly agree with you.
Cheers.,
Prabu

Mr.Pandarinathan Raman, a member of our group, a
resident of
chromepet has found that a school in chromepet is
conducting a science
exhibition on the 19th of October. Raman and
myself have plans of
conducting a small exhibit of GNU/Linux at this
school, and if its a
success, start exhibiting more in other schools.
Luckily the 19th of
Oct happens to be a Saturday. (-:
Here is a little information:
Goal: To show that GNU/Linux is a good, free
replacement OS for use in
schools.
Audience: Mostly School children. Some teachers
and parents too.
Time: Unknown
Date: starting on 19th and spanning possibly two
or three days (most
likely to end by sunday).
We are looking at building a small team of 3 to 5
people to organise
and conduct this demo. Volunteers are invited! (no
money, no food
will be provided (-; )
