Hi,
I am toiling myself hard to get gtk work with Mandrake 8.2
First gtk(2.0.0) required pango(1.0.0), atk(1.0.0), pkg-config(0.12.0) and
glib(2.0.0). I downloaded and installed all the packages in the following way:
#./configure - in the respective director
#make install
#make check
#make
A simple program of the sort
#include <gtk/gtk.h>
int main()
{
return 1;
}
gives me compilation error that gtk/gtk.h is not found. Using find
command, I found that it is located at /usr/local/include. This directory
contains a file gtk.h (which I require) and a directory by the name
gtk. The file gtk has many files as "included files" that are present in
/usr/local/include/gtk.
I tried including the full path of the file in the program. Also, ran
ldconfig before compiling the program. gtk.h is also found in
/home/vignesh/gtk-+2.0.0. I repeated the above possible solutions. But to
vain.
A book guides to compile the program as
gcc example.c 'gtk-config -cflags' 'gtk-config -line'. I have also tried
using -I option with gcc. No gains.
But I could not find gtk-config command in my system.
How do I compile this program? Where should I make an entry so as to
search the include files in the new directory? I could be wrong in any of
the above mentioned procedures or unaware of certain procedures.
Kindly enlighten me,
Advance thanks,
Vignesh.

hi all ,
I m just hunting out on file system encryption for linux . And in the
process checked out that most of these weren't supporting 2.4 kernel.
Only 2/3 supports 2.4 .
Encryption tool which supports 2.4 :
* loopiv / loop-jari
* PPDD
* Stegfs(alpha stage)
* BestCrypt
And i finally settled with PPDD . I just want to ensure that i wasn't
missing anyting out there .
NOTE : We r gonna use this 4 commercial purpose , so BestCrypt is ruled
out .
bye
uday.

Hi,
I think your post would be more relevant on the cpunks-india mailing list.
Check out http://lists.vipul.net/mailman/listinfo/cpunks-india
FWIW, over 20 months back, I found cfs very useful, and handy. The mailing
list is still very much alive, with matt blaze, and others from AT&T still
on the list.
best,
