One more doubt. Is it possible to leave a user
(not
root) process running in backgroud even after
logging
out of the shell?
When using IRC, the files (to be downloaded) were
added to the queue, so that I can leave the IRC
client
process to run forever.
man nohup
I think you mean by 'info nohup'.
I should then run.
$ nohup bitchx
...
type the appro commands (side-by-side check the
nohup.out file for correct responses)
Press Ctrl+Z
type 'bg'
(Not yet tried the above, since I am busy working
in IRC, will try this within minutes...when out
internet lab is about to be closed)
but be CAREFUL. especially when leaving an irc bot
running like that.
=====
Windows 2000 is more secure than Linux...
Since the machine is offline half of the time because of crashes, it cannot be
accessed globally, therefore producing higher security.
