[Ilugc] doubt in uninstalling/installing

hello..


i have a doubt in uninstalling and instaling a pkg.
yes the package is ppp1.1.2 ( what ever it may be..)


i intend to do so because when i opened the package thru the gnome rpm and 
verifyed ..i found that the it had errors in 3 files.(chap-secrets, pap-secrets 
and options).
so i thought of uninstalling and re-installing ....but i had a mesage  from the 
 system saying that the system would go into the unstable state..if these files 
r removed....so i just quit


and one more thing i noticed was the wvdialer which i use to connect is in the 
directory /usr/bin ...


but from the info i got (from suresh subaramaniam's wvdial page) it 
has to be in /usr/local/bin...


clarify..!!!!
