HI,
I recently tried to watch movies with Linux, there were lots of
frame dropings. During my days with windows. I had no problem with
watching movies. As mentioned in xine web-site, i tried xine-check &
these are the results:
lots of [good] so <snip>

That means xine will have to to color space transformation

XVideo is an X server extension introduced by XFree86 4.x. This
extension provides access to hardware accelerated color
space conversion and scaling, which gives a great
performance boost. If you have a fast (>1GHz) machine, you
may be able to watch all kinds of video, anyway. You will
waste lots of CPU cycles, though... press <enter> to continue...
Is there any way to avoid frame droping?
My graphics card is S3 Trio 3D/2X. My distro is FC3.
Thank you
with regards,
ashwin
