The vertical and horizontal refresh frequencies specified in your
XF86config should be incompatible with that of your monitor.
Reconfigure X.
Method 1.
# XFree86 -configure
# XFree86 -xf86config /root/XF86Config.new
-- if that worked
# cp /root/XF86Config.new /etc/X11/XF86Config
-- if that does not work,
Method 2.
# xf86config
-- specify the horizontal frequency as "30-55" and vertical frequency as
"50-100" that should be fine!
