[Ilugc] Re linux in college environment

I guess I should have made it clearer. Linux gives you
the advantage of Unix and to top it its free, apart
from letting you play with the source. Also you dont
need very expensive machines. Solaris machines are
more expensive than x86 machines.
I donot know if Windows was written in C. But just
because something is
written in C doesn't mean it will be easier to write
C code on that OS.
Its not the ease, but it offers you more power and
more features. Let me put it this way: u can really
get your hands dirty if u were to use C on unix or c
on linux. I can't elaborate beyond that as I have not
gone too deep. This depth might not be necessary for
schools ( I could be mistaken) but it definitely would
be useful at the college level.
abt, demo at schools project, I will have a look.
