?????????? What job? How can you be sure GNU/Linux can do everything?
The 'job' was described in the first part of my mail...
I want to know whether it is possible to effectively network boot 10
nodes (no hard disk/cd/floppy drive) with one server running GNU/Linux.
All the 10 nodes will be powered on together.
It's not Superman, you know... Please do be careful what you recommend
to people regarding linux. sometimes misadvocacy can be worse than not
telling them anything at all.
It's worse for me too! i wont get my payments! :-) (It's a turnkey
once people have very high expectations
from linux and things don't work out immediately they might never return
to linuxland again. So, please, do be careful. And give us more details
about what it is that you want linux to do for you.
Actually now that i am convinced that LTSP can do the job, i am trying
hard to push this project. Acceptance of linux in this line seems very
low, the problem being support. A medium sized manufacturing firm
generaly has 1 or 2 EDP people, and it is very rare that they want/know
about GNU/linux's capacities.
So if there is one or two successful projects which i can show to these
people, they will be more convinced.
