Hello,
I find myself in the enviable position of being able to influence
corporate
IT policy, after having spent long hours battling management and finally
getting them to see the benefits of going with Open Source solutions over
MS/Oracle et al. (I use the term Open Source vaguely, I mean non-proprietary,
GPL/BSD/Moz/etc.), I have been asked to draft a rough version of what the
policy should be.
The corporation I work for covers a whole lot of areas, including
broadcast,
production, services industry (hotels etc), and finance; so the policy can
just be generic in order to provide guidelines for future reference. Can
anyone offer advice / help, or point me to any advocacy sites that would be
useful.
