As you didn't get my point, 'that is accommodating'. Torvalds allowed

can't our group?

I guess the debate between the purists and the pragmatic is never ending.
From what I understand,  the decision to include proprietary drivers in the
Linux kernel didn't sit well with a lot of people,  and many projects were
launched to improve open source drivers for many devices.

Eventually nVidia came around too. (

I think in our case,  allowing talks on proprietary software would set a
bad precedent.  Later on,  someone might come and say "You allowed their
demo and talk,  why not ours?"  And we let them, and we ask "Hey that looks
interesting, how did you do it?" and they would say "I'm not at liberty to
discuss that particular part,  please ask something else."  Alternatively,
our talks can be about alternatives available for Carrot Foam tree,  and if
someone is trying them out,  they can talk about how to improve those, etc.
