Where did OP's email or my email, emphasise proprietary software or
technologies which violates FOSS principles? OP mentioned he wanted to
share an app which implements carrot search, if i picked it right. He
mentioned its on RoR. So why it shouldn't be shared in a FOSS group, even
though app's source code can't be shared.

We are a public FOSS group. Principles of FOSS are based on sharing of
idea. We are a public group, so should be accommodative. Above all members
of group should exercise care in choice of words bearing that we are public
FOSS group. Because everyone represents this group. Thats why i initially
stated 'let us not scare'.
