Typically bash_completion can be programmed to do the task that you are
looking for. type the following and see what happens:

where is the help? Where is the explanation for each flag? The bash
completion thing is not a replacement for looking up man pages. The
use of kaptain and my proposed glue code will do just that.
Fundamentally, you are refusing to acknowledge that a cli, by
definition is a uni-directional information passing mechanism - The
user sends commands to the other side and gets back results. Any
hacks to improve it are just that - hacks. A gui, otoh, is by
definition a two way information exchange mechanism. The user reacts
to information already available in the form of pictures, menus etc.
