I am aged 50
and am interested in Linux
for many years but unable to
lay my hands as my office system
fully geared up with windows. But
I used to read abt linux regularly.
Recently I was having discussion
with my younger daughter studying
VIII Std. who is also showing interest
in learning Linux.
First I would like to ask which institute
will be suitable for novice like us?
How much it will cost?
In case if I buy a cheap computer
for my home , can I get a Linux system
installed. Some of persons I knew in
the hardware ( those who give supply
to our office ) were not supportive of
Linux and frighten me !
I read that Mandrake or Suse is
most suitable for Desktops.
If so where I can get a Box of it
and at what price?
Whether we can learn linux directly
from the home system itself?
Whether Star office will also be included
because my daughter may have to prepare
so much for her classes.
