It would be a good idea to go through the hardware compatibility
list (like this: http://hardware.redhat.com/hcl/, but that's for
RedHat Enterprise Linux) for your distribution of choice, if you're
uncomfortable with configuring stuff manually.

It would be also a good idea to ask for support from the people who
prepared the distribution - in this case, PC Quest.

Every operating system happens to have some kind of imcompatibilty
problems. For us, sometimes the problem is with proprietary hardware
specs. We rant about the evil hardware makers in such cases :)

Anyway, there's a rationale and philosophy behind the existence of
Free Software. We hope you'd be interested in these aspects also,
once your problems are solved. And you would make your own contributions
to this community then.

Initial frustrations are so common when you learn something new,
but later on you'll feel ashamed that you were so frustrated initially
with such simple things - just like the days we were learning to ride
bicycle. We hope you won't leave us so easily :)
