I can work with any editor that will support RegEx find and replace.
Syntax highlight would be an added advantage.
I am comfortable with VIM. Never got off to use Emacs. My every effort
to get the very basics was met with RTFM. I would read them iff I can
happily edit something for the first time and read further for
advanced features. I wouldn't be reading for basic editing :(
The solaris box that my client provides me contains only VI. I can't demand.
At office, I use Windows and quite comfortable with almost any editor
(GVIM, TextPad, EditPlus, Crimson Editor - only the first one is
free). At home, I use a combination of VIM and Kate.
