Hello,
would like to make animation for TV Programs. (Eg. Animations before Sun TV
News...... ). I tried xawtv and which is used to watch TV programs in PC,
Isn't it?.
Please suggest me a software to do that. (No problem, if Windows OS !)
On Linux broadcast / production quality applications Maya from Alias
Wavefront
http://www.aliaswavefront.com/ for 3d; Houdini from SideFx ;
http://www.sidefx.com for pre / post production, Film Gimp ;
http://filmgimp.sourceforge.net/ for most of what Photoshop can do, and then ;
some; Rayz from Silicon Grail (taken over by Apple)
http://www.sgrail.com/ ;
for compositing; Shake (again formerly owned by Nothing Real taken over by
Apple)
http://www.apple.com/shake/ for film level compositing; then you have ;
Discreet Logic
http://www.discreet.com/products/ showing off Combustion on ;
Linux at NAB in April (product not released yet) - Combustion can take in
3DSMax output with the depth info for real high speed composites...
Not much to write home about on the editing side, they only usable (user
friendly) editor I find on Linux is Mainactor Sequencer
http://www.mainconcept.com ;
There are a lot of solutions on Linux depending on how much money you want to
spend (these usually start at a few thousand USD). Also, there is no /one/
software that will do what you have in mind (kind of animations before Sun
News).
On the Windows front, this really isn't the forum to discuss it, write to me
offline if you need more info, but for a quickstart you might want to check
out 3DSMax 5.0
And we'll thank you not to be sarcastic to Mr Suraj, he might have
misunderstood your question, just like I might have misunderstood your reply.
regards
BGa
