Hi all,
This was the exact error message when I used RHL9.0 with Mozilla 1.2.1
Just follow the steps as given below to solve this issue ...
1.Download the Java Runtime Environment from the following link
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/download.html
Note:
U can choose either ***rpm.bin or ***.bin
MAKE SURE THE DESTINATION PATH IS /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins
(I choose the self extracting one which I found to be easier)
2.Give execute permission to the downloaded file (which should be
j2re-1_4_2_05-linux-i586.bin )
3.Execute the file as ./j2re-1_4_2_05-linux-i586.bin
4.Make sure that u have the appropriate directory "j2re1.4.2_05"
5.Finally create a symlink as shown below...
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 53 Jul 3 00:20
libjavaplugin_oji.so -
./j2re1.4.2_05/plugin/i386/ns610/libjavaplugin_oji.so
6.Alternatively can also try to copy the file "libjavaplugin_oji.so"
to the "plugins" directory directly ... but it did not work as
expected
TO CHECK IF ITS INSTALLED PROPERLY
Open MOZILLA BROWSER ---> Help ---> About Plug-ins
The output should be as follows...
Installed plug-ins
Java(TM) Plug-in 1.4.2_05-b04
File name: libjavaplugin_oji.so
Java(TM) Plug-in 1.4.2_05
MIME Type Description Suffixes Enabled
application/x-java-vm Java Yes
application/x-java-applet Java Yes
application/x-java-applet;version=1.1 Java Yes
