I dont remember the context but a few years back, one of my friends, who is
not Indian, asked me, but why does Indian media pay so much attention to it?
By paying attention, you have given them the publicity, they desired.
About 8 months back, in ILUGC mailing list, I had mailed(after reading
40+(by a very conservative guess) mails on asking a new joinee not to waste
precious bandwidth for some reason(again my poor memory fails me.) )  asking
people how much band-width we have wasted by sending back and forth so many
mails. I know perhaps what I am writing wont make much sense, but we can do
better by ignoring such mails in the future. Ofcourse its individuals
choice.

I agree with Suresh.
Free and open-source software is very important., but the rest of it is also
important.
