Sarge is good for a desktop machine, anyday compared to woody. Infact
woody is typically used for machines which have to run for days
together. Also Sarge contains most new packages than woody. 'sid'
stands for 'still in development' and will contain 'bleeding edge'
software.
So to give an idea of how latest each tree of debian is...
experimental > sid > testing > stable
aka
experimental > sid > sarge > woody (as of today)
