Think about students, hardcore developers, ....
What do you mean by 'hardcore'? Do you have to be a kernel hacker to be
considered 'hardcore'? If so, there are very few hardcore programmers
here today. BTW, I'm a student...and I find stuff like Rotor very, very
educational.
Microsoft, in general hates anyone who is NOT
Microsoft. Other than that, they just act.
Hmmm...is that why Borland develops Delphi.NET? Is that why Macromedia
has support for .Net in Dreamweaver? Is that why Microsoft still
develops for Mac (which is better than the Windows Office in a lot of
ways). In fact, Apple know that they'll go down the drain without MS
doing Office..that's why at the recent MacWorld expo, even when you had
Steve Jobs cracking jokes about MS, MS had a booth set up there.

Microsoft source code
available (apart from the Windows code leaks ;-) ).(Rotor, WinCE)
That may one of the stupid Microsoft tricks
Man...Microsoft doesn't release code...they get criticized. Microsoft
releases code..they still get criticized. They just can't win , can
they? :-)

Lol...naa....I would rather work for Google (whom ...dare I say it...I
find cooler than MS) :-)

Possible alternatives: DotGNU, Mono
Now, I don't get this. Microsoft has a settlement with Apple and use GUI
and they get accused of copying. These guys boldly copy (and Mono is
worse here as dotGNU only tries to implement the ECMA specs...Mono tries
to do a lot of stuff MS has patented)....but they're hailed. Now, lets
say MS sues Mono (which they're very much in their rights to do)...do
you really think people are gonna say " those Mono guys had it
coming..they shouldn't have copied". Most probably not.
Ok..one disclaimer here. I have Mono at home and I find it really,
really cool...in fact, if you guys would let me, I would love to do a
demo of Mono or Rotor at one of the LUG meets.
