thank you, thank you. well, i suppose i really do need to reply. i am not
really a bsd fan, i have been a bsd user on and off for many years, mostly
in my days when my un*x knowledge was very very low. lest you get the
wrong idea, i believe i have progressed to a state where i can describe my
knowledge level as low... no, really; i am not being humble and making one
of those superstar baba statements about known and unknown. well, i am
digressing already... it is quite beyond my means to talk about the basic
differences between bsd and linux. prabhu was not much off the mark in
responding to the suggestion that i talk about bsd. if i am needed to, i
may prepare, and give a talk - and maybe even make it appear as if i know
about what i am talking. that is one of the professional hazards of being
a teacher... now, celibacy (voluntary or involuntary) is perhaps something
i could talk about with some authority, having gotten married only at the
ripe age of 34. my main difficulty these days is that mostly i am not in a
position to come to the lug meets on saturdays...
