I have on my desk a box with all the frills of a debian woody system
... except for X :) My video card is as mentioned in the subject
line.
* I was absent for a while when the X packages were installed and
configured; in any case the result is I can type startx and be
greated by a horrendous screen with terrible resolution and fonts.
Any attempt to start gnome-session or kdestart result in a signal 11
that terminates the X server
* When I type "xf86cfg" on a virtual terminal, it exits saying "a
driver was found for your card , but the details are not listed in
your PciInfo.h. Please send the output of pciinfo -v to the
maintainers" or words to that effect.
Any has any idea what I should be doing? Has anyone got X working on
this video card?
