Mark,
I run 15.2 S43 on Solaris 8.
This is what I get when click the out of shape button:
(See attached).
I have positive shapes - that may be the difference.
All the buttons referring to shapes give reports when click on them.

I cannot figure out which they are.
Or how to update them.
I ran dbdoctor and it made no difference.
Reported nothing back.
I hope I didn't use up all of my December help credits yet!
Any ideas?

That is true for unassigned shapes, but not "out of date shapes.
