Hello,
The simple answer is that the transmission line calculator is based on
closed form equations while display > parasitics calls the field solver.
The transmission line calculator was originally meant as an aid for RF
PCB.

Subject: [PCB_FORUM] tline calc vs parasitics
Hi folks,
when I do a stripline (or other scenarios) calculation in the
transmission line calc I get a very different impedance value compared
to the parasitics report. Any idea why?
