Normally most software is not happy if all of the physical pins are not
identified in
a logic symbol. What is the 5th pin on the allegro footprint for? If it
is a signal or
ground pin then the part in the schematic should be updated. If it is
just a mechanical
mounting hole and not a "connect" pin then, there shouldn't be any
problem. With allegro
a mechanical hole is not considered a "pin" and they probably should be
NPTH.
The same holds true if it is a surface mount "hold down" pad that has no
electrical connection.
It must be added as mechanical and not connect. Doing an inquire on the
5th pin in allegro
should tell you what kind of a pin/pad it is.

Subject: [PCB_FORUM] sch4pins-pcb5pins
Group: In orcad capture I have a four pin part and in allegro i have a 5
pin part. Are there ways to make this work? In the past I've always made
the sch part and pcb part to have equal number of pins.
Sam
