In the allegro part editor:

I have an etch shape that the vias are in, and a single pin is also in the
shape. A cline is needed from the pin to the shape (or maybe one of the
vias) and then i derive connectivity in the part file before creating the
symbol.

In the capture symbol, i just need a pin for each pin in the allegro part.

Hmm...  The someone must be allegro or capture, because i am the only one
here that uses this.  :)

Are you using Concept?  I think that's where the confusion is: i have
capture.
