thanks... that was what I did, did not see the purge button... scroll down...
D'oh!
I love the setup > "bb vias," for thru vias... sort of like windows "start" to
stop.

Setup Constraints. Physical rule set>Set Values. Remove vias that you do
not want to use from the via list on the right hand side by clicking on
them. Tools>Padstack>Modify Design Padstacks. On the bottom of the form
there will be a Purge button. Click on this and it will remove all
unused padstacks in the design.
